Ten Steps to Take Your School to the Top

NAPMA member Michael Pace shares ten steps he took to create the future he envisioned: to grow from 100 students to 300 students. Mr. Pace has discovered that many school owners are particularly challenged when they try to grow beyond 100 students. These methods are easy to modify to your school's culture and implement quickly with a minimum of effort and cost.

Mr. Pace says that growing your school to 300 students (or any level) is often only a matter of focusing on the fundamental methods he recommends here and implementing them to their fullest. Too many school owners often do not allow these methods to take full effect before moving to the next one.

Develop a growth strategy, based on these 10 methods, and you'll maximize your opportunity to succeed.

Free Century Gift Certificate Will Pay For Members’ Upgrade to New Maximum Impact Membership
According to the most recent NAPMA membership reports, many NAPMA members have upgraded to the new Maximum Impact membership because the free Century gift certificate, as part of the bonus package, will more than cover the cost for their upgrades.

The free Century gift certificate is $500 in wholesale value. You will easily double the value of your $500 Century order when you sell those Century products at retail in your pro shop. The $1,000 (or more!) that you generate will pay for your upgrade to Maximum Impact. (The gift certificate is redeemable for uniforms, belts and sparring gear.)
A current NAPMA membership is $99 a month; the Maximum Impact upgrade for current members is another $80 a month (or $179 per month total), or $960 per year. (Shipping is extra.) A Maximum Impact membership for non-members is only $199 per month total plus shipping.

“It’s really a no-brainer for all current NAPMA members,” said Melissa Gouley, NAPMA membership director. “As a Maximum Impact member, they will receive both the monthly NAPMA Professional Package and bi-monthly NAPMA Squared Package as well as an outstanding bonus package, valued at $2,500.”

The Maximum Impact bonus package, which all upgraded or new members will receive, includes the $500 Century gift certificate after one uninterrupted year of membership; a Stephen Oliver Educational Package, valued at $1,497; and a Rob Colasanti Continuing Education Package, valued at $550.

All NAPMA members and instructors throughout the industry are invited to visit the NAPMA Web site at napma.com to read all the exciting details. You can become a Maximum Impact member online or call a NAPMA representative at 1-800-973-6734.
NAPMA Expands Relationship with Joe Lewis Fighting Systems to Benefit Members

NAPMA President Rob Colasanti recently announced that NAPMA and Joe Lewis Fighting Systems are jointly developing new projects and opportunities to benefit all NAPMA members.

The vitality of their growing relationships was in evidence at the Joe Lewis Fighting Systems’ Annual Research Conference, November 2 – 5, in Tampa, Fla., where Colasanti was a featured speaker and participated in several of the training sessions. Mark Graden, NAPMA’s director of martial arts curriculum and a 6th-Degree Black Belt under Lewis, also attended the conference to test new Black Belts into the Lewis association.

Colasanti spoke on the topic, “Martial Arts First, Business Second,” which he developed from his monthly column in the November 2006 issue of Martial Arts Professional Magazine.

“Everyone at NAPMA congratulates Joe Lewis Fighting Systems, and Mike Allen and Ed Dominguez, who organized and hosted the conference, for creating a great family atmosphere and offering practical, hard-core martial arts training taught by top-quality instructors,” said Colasanti.

During the evening session, the association’s executive board unanimously voted Graden the Pound for Pound Fighter of the Year for 2006, for the second year in a row. Graden recently won the WAKO Pro world super heavyweight championship. He will also be spearheading the effort to bring Joe Lewis Fighting Systems’ training material to NAPMA members.

“Although Joe Lewis is best known as one of the greatest fighters of all time; he is also a martial arts pioneer, creating many teaching innovations that have had and will have a positive influence on NAPMA members and all schools and students for decades into the future,” said Colasanti. “My future future Sounds of Success interview with Mr. Lewis will also highlight many of the challenges he overcame to become a legendary champion and the life lessons he learned throughout his career.”
