7.The Black Belt Promotion Report: Spring Break Day Camp: An Alternate Profit Center For Any Size School

March’s Black Belt Promotions Report, “Spring Break Day Camp: An Alternate Profit Center For Any Size School,” is what many members tell us they want—and what they say they really want is a sample daily schedule of a spring break day camp—and that’s what NAPMA has delivered!

The report presents a detailed 8 am to 5 pm schedule of activities, games and lessons, with the right mix of meals, snacks and rest, to make your camp fun and a learning experience. That nine-hour day will also pass more swiftly for your staff.

The report also presents ideas to market and promote your day camp, supported by the complete marketing campaign in this package.

In an effort to exceed your expectations, we’ve included the March 2006 Black Belt Promotions Report, “Boost Your Profits with a Five-Day Spring Break Karate Day Camp.” This bonus report provides you with even more information and ideas about how to plan, manage and profit from a Spring Break Day Camp.

9. The G.O.L.D. Leadership Report: Turning the Bad into the Good: The Ultimate Skill of a Martial Arts Teacher by Tom Callos

Once again, Tom Callos focuses on an important leadership skill that all instructors should learn in the G.O.L.D. Team Leadership Report. “Turning the Bad into the Good: The Ultimate Skill of a Martial Arts Teacher” explains how to address negative situations at your school with positive solutions.

For instance, a student has been absent from a significant number of classes that are required for his next belt level. That is bad! Mr. Callos suggests that you develop a “make it good” plan that helps the student earn the class credits he needs and be prepared for his test.

The Report includes a number of specific examples of bad situations you probably experience, regularly, and strategies to make them good, positive and fulfilling for everyone involved.

Mr. Callos also provides training exercises that will help you teach your G.O.L.D. Team members this “bad to good” skill.

10. Words of the Week: Risk by Solomon Brenner

Words of the Week is another enriching lesson from Solomon Brenner. In fact, he provides four excellent lessons about “risk” to share with your students.

He starts with the concept that no one can expect to achieve great rewards without risking failure—and having the confidence to do so.

He then turns to the idea that never taking a risk is much worse than taking a risk and failing to succeed.

During the third lesson, he motivates students always to do their best and be prepared to make big sacrifices if the goal is worth it.

Finally, he helps you explain to your students that some goals are so great that they should be willing to take bold risks, to “go for it,” without analyzing the risks too closely. Their training, confidence and hard work will help them overcome the risk and achieve their goals.
