NAPMA Sounds of Success CD Interview,
“Echo of Greatness” with Joe Lewis, coming in the Next NAPMA Professional Package
In late February, NAPMA President Rob Colasanti interviewed the legendary Joe Lewis for a two-part Sounds of Success CD interview, which revealed Lewis' vast depth of knowledge, concerning many of the non-physical elements of the martial arts.
The Joe Lewis interview will surprise and even stun you, since he demonstrates a level of intellect you may never have experienced from the greatest fighter in the history of karate. You'll have a rare opportunity to look behind the public persona everyone knows so well, as Mr. Colasanti taps into the champ's genius IQ.
Mr. Lewis' comments focus on the life lessons he has learned as a young student in Okinawa, champion fighter, film actor and father of two.
Mr. Lewis pulls no punches when he talks about the over-commercialization of the martial arts and how the industry must strive for and maintain the highest levels of quality martial arts instruction, honesty and integrity.
"Although I've conducted a long list of important interviews for NAPMA, I can honestly say I didn't know exactly what to expect from Joe Lewis," said Colasanti. "What I experienced, however, was an interview like no other. I was humbled by Mr. Lewis' responses, as he clearly demonstrated that he is a true "grand master" of the martial arts.
I've never heard anyone explain topics, such as confidence, spirituality, developing the proper mindset for success and having "heart," so well. It was truly awe-inspiring to listen to his mastery of what it takes to be a true Black Belt, to be a "real" fighter and to achieve personal and professional greatness. In retrospect, Mr. Lewis' answers to my questions may not be that surprising, since he's lived it, has trained thousands of Black Belts and worked with most of the top martial artists in the world."
Mr. Lewis stated that this was a first-of-a-kind interview for him; one totally unlike the standard barrage of questions that he must answer again and again. Instead, this interview touched on more meaningful and spiritually deep subjects.
According to Colasanti, Mr. Lewis' statements were so powerful and important that even the audio engineer (who typically remains aloof during these interviews) was following every word and was visibly moved.
Look for this extraordinary, two-hour Joe Lewis interview in the next two NAPMA Professional Packages.
