This husband and wife team is red-hot and razor-sharp! NAPMA members since 1999, the Alexanders work with over a thousand students in three locations. They teach an eclectic system ranging from traditional karate to Fitness Kickboxing and judo. Their areas of expertise include personal development, setting up systems, admissions directors, and overall staff development. They love to network with other school owners that are serious about growth and they are happy to "give back" to the NAPMA organization through the NSSN.

A NAPMA member since 1996, Sam An started with a martial arts school located in the basement of a bowling alley. Since joining NAPMA, he has grown into two locations with over 250 students. He teaches NAPMA programs such as Fitness Kickboxing and Little Ninjas. His specialties include increasing the net profit of his schools and staff training.

A NAPMA member for five years, Mr. Anta runs a successful school called Anta's Fitness and Self-Defense. He teaches kung fu, pilates, and NAPMA programs such as Little Ninjas, EZ Defense, Fitness Kickboxing, Kickin' Kids After School Martial Arts, and the National Black Belt Club. He specializes in implementing new profit centers and garnering inexpensive publicity for his school. He celebrates National Martial Arts Day with demonstrations and a Project Action Kick-A-Thon. He has been featured in many newspapers, television shows, and magazines as a result of his affiliation with NAPMA. Mr. Anta is ACMA certified.

Richie Bernard opened the House of the Samurai in Londonderry, New Hampshire in 1974, but has been studying martial arts for almost 40 years. He holds a 9th Dan in Shorin Ryu Karate and a 7th Dan in Goju Ryu Karate, as well as many other professional distinctions. Richie has been a NAPMA member since 1999, when Tony Fournier, a NAPMA NSSN faculty member in Portland, Maine enthusiastically endorsed the quality and comprehensiveness of NAPMA's services. Today, Richie operates his dojo in a building he purchased; provides instructor certification programs; has a full-time dojo director and program director; and six part-time instructors.

David Boise has been a NAPMA member for eight years, since June 1996. He and his wife, Leisa, operate a single location with 312 active students and own the 11,250-square-foot building where their school, Fred Villari's Studio, is located. They teach a number of NAPMA programs, including Little Ninjas and Fitness Kickboxing, and are preparing to begin teaching EZ Defense.

With a 50/50 blend of kids and adults, Mr. Cook specializes in working with kids, attracting the adult market, and simply teaching great martial arts classes

In 1996, Dr. Dewey moved off campus to open his school teaching Judo, Hapkido, Ju Jitsu, Taekwondo and Aikido. Dr. Dewey operates one of the most successful Judo-based schools in the United States. A role model professional judoka, Dr. Dewey holds the title of USJA Coaching Education Program Director in the United States Judo Association and brings a tremendous amount of judo-related knowledge to the NSSN.

A proud NAPMA member for more than five years, Mr. Duncan has utilized the monthly NAPMA materials so effectively that he has tripled is school's student count and changed his quality of life. Now teaching over three hundred active paying students, this hard working instructor offers instruction in Karate, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and weapons. On the business side, he is proficient at retaining the teenage group, staff development, Little Ninjas, floor management, and after school martial arts.

Rick Dye operates the American Colleges of Karate in Auburn and Kent, Washington, and two affiliate schools in Auburn and El Cajon, California, with a total enrollment of 400 active students. He joined NAPMA in 1995. His school's style of American Karate, or Aam-ka-jutsu, and Jujitsu mixes the most effective self-defense techniques from many different types of martial arts. His schools' curricula specialize in the teaching of school-age children.

A NAPMA member for seven years, has been selected as the Director of the NSSN. At his school, Midwest Martial Arts Academy, he runs a combination of fitness programs as well as martial arts classes for all ages. He works with over 600 students at his location. Charlie has taught at the NAPMA World Conference and has also authored past NAPMA articles and made video appearances. His specialities include marketing, business management, and fitness programs.

Operating Fournier's Olympic Karate Center, Mr. Fournier has been an active NAPMA member since 1995. He currently has two locations, teaching Shotokan and Krav Maga to over 700 students. He has successfully incorporated NAPMA programs such as Little Ninjas and Fitness Kickboxing. Mr. Fournier brings many specialties to the NSSN Faculty including knowledge on effective marketing, internal promotions, and outstanding leadership skills.

Chick Gavitt has been a martial artist for more than 22 years and holds various degrees in traditional karate and kobudo, the highest being 6th dan. His school, Ichiban Karate Studio, opened almost 14 years ago and has since graduated almost 200 Black Belts.

With 350 active students, Chick specializes in disguising repetition in the classroom as well as developing great sparring drills for junior Black Belts. His school was named one of the top 200 schools in America by Martial Arts Business Magazine in 1994, 1996 and 1997. Chick also teaches traditional weapons seminars throughout New England and conducts informal consulting for smaller schools.

A NAPMA member for over eight years, Roger Jarrett brings to the NSSN a tremendous variety of skills and knowledge. For starters, Mr. Jarrett is a veteran school owner with several thousand students in 19 locations. He also holds the title of Secretary General within the USA-NKF, which is the national governing body for karate in the U.S. In his schools, he teaches the arts of aikido, karate, taekwondo, judo, jujitsu, kobudo, and laido. Though Mr. Jarrett specializes in virtually all areas of running a successful school, he really enjoys helping traditional instructors to incorporate modern martial arts business practices that still allow them to maintain the integrity of their art.

Bringing to the NSSN a unique blend of academic and martial arts backgrounds, Dr. Harold Lauber operates a 200 student, family-owned school and has been a member of NAPMA for almost seven years. Over the past 30 years, this academian has earned a BS degree in physical education, a PhD in special education, and several other degrees. Applying this knowledge to his school, Dr. Lauber specializes in the areas of leadership skills, staff training, character development, after school martial arts, and teaching physically and mentally challenged students.

When Mr. Orndorff joined NAPMA in 1997 he was working with just 25 students. Today, he works with over 250. His school, The North American Martial Arts Institute, teaches primarily Tae Kwon Do. Joey Perry has been a NAPMA member for the past few years. He is a 5th degree Black Belt and President of the National Taekwondo Federation of America. He has served as a mentor, helping other schools grow within his organization. He currently operates two full-time, growing schools and a part time club with more than 235 students.

Joey recently introduced NAPMA's Little Ninjas program and increased enrollment from 5 to 40 ninjas practically overnight. Joey is both a NAPMA Professional member and a NAPMA Squared member and is looking forward to assisting you with his experience.
